Project:Use of copyrighted materials: Difference between revisions

When dealing with taking text from other sources, a link to the original source it came from must be provided on the relevant articles' talk page unless it is CC0, since all other compatible licenses require attribution. This is done adding [[Template:Copyright attribution talk]] (if not already present) to the top of the talk page. This will create a new section with an [[Template:Ombox|ombox]] describing that the section exists to attribute copyrighted material.

If the section already exists, to attribute the material, [[Template:Copyright attribution table]] should be [[wikipedia:Help:Substitution|substituted]] underneath the last table in the section. If the section is being created for the first time, the table should substituted right under [[Template:Copyright attribution talk]]. The <code>source</code> parameter should be a full URL link to where the material came from and the <code>content</code> parameter be a link to the [[wikipedia:Help:Diff|diff]] or [[wikipedia:Help:Page history|page revision]] that added the content from the <code>source</code>. If the <code>source</code> is Wikipedia, the URL should be the latest diff of the page in question - not just a link to the article.
