Hypixel, otherwise known as the Hypixel Network, is a Minecraft minigame server released on April 13, 2013. It is managed by the company Hypixel Inc.
It hosts a large number of games, including Bed Wars, SkyWars, Duels, Murder Mystery, and Cops & Robbers (known as Cops and Crims)[1]. The server is widely regarded as, if not objectively is, the largest and most expansive Minecraft server currently online.

History
2013
On April 13, the server's IP address is made public with 500 available slots. The 2 available games are Quakecraft and bow spleef.
On August 8, an update is released to present quality of life changes for players who wish to play with their friends.
On September 8, Hypixel has 11,556 concurrent players.
On October 5 and 6, Hypixel performs it's first tournament.[2]
On October 10, achievements are added.
2014
On April 29, a contest is released for players to come up with designs for the lobbies of the arcade game servers.[3][4]
On May 30, the staff rank Junior Helper is put into effect.[5]
On September 3, Hypixel releases a creative mode server.[6]
On November 8, Hypixel releases a developer training program. It is shutdown after 2 waves of applications.
On November 30, the general layout of the server itself was changed, presenting quality of life updates - such as tutorials for certain games.
2015
On January 21 and 22, the forums are updated. Notably, players can link their Minecraft account to their forum account.
On February 8, another website update is made, which is the last update as of January 2020. The layout and theme of the website has persisted since.
On June 14, Skywars is released.
On August 15, a new general server lobby is launched, which has since set the layout of the lobby up to present day.
2016
On January 29, Watchdog, the server's anti-cheat software, is launched. This resulted in 852 automated bans. An additional 2,000 bans are issued within the following 48 hours.
On March 5, Hypixel has 45,413 concurrent players.
On June 7, the team behind the creative mode server splits off from Hypixel and becomes their own entity.[7]
