===Controversy=== On January 14, 2019, Alby made an announcement calling attention to [[wikipedia:Wendy Williams|Wendy Williams]] who allegedly made fun of a facial deformity that Alby had. Alby asked members to investigate an attached tweet and that they were "outraged by the fact that someone could do this".<ref>{{Cite Discord|name=Alby|date=14 January 2019|server=Kurva Gaming|img=Kurva_Gaming14.png|access-date=2023-04-07|channel=announcements}}</ref> Alby would later clarify that they do not endorse attacking Wendy.<ref>{{Cite Discord|name=Alby|date=15 January 2019|server=Kurva Gaming|img=Kurva_Gaming15.png|access-date=2023-04-07|channel=announcements}}</ref> On June 7, 2020, Alby announced that there was a situation where there were numerous "bans, mutes, and general fuckery" on June 4 and apologized for the behavior. They state that all future major events in the community will be ran and monitored by themselves.<ref>{{Cite Discord|name=Alby|date=7 June 2020|server=Kurva Gaming|img=Kurva_Gaming24.png|access-date=2023-04-07|channel=announcements}}</ref> On August 24, 2020, Kurva announced the termination of TechStar123 due to their failure to maintain confidentiality and "[trying] to recruit spies for other members and used promotions to essentially bribe them".<ref>{{Cite Discord|name=Alby|date=24 August 2020|server=Kurva Gaming|img=Kurva_Gaming26.png|access-date=2023-04-07|channel=announcements}}</ref> TechStar123 made a ping in the official announcements channel on September 18<ref>{{Cite Discord|name=TechStar123|date=18 September 2020|server=Kurva Gaming|img=Kurva_Gaming27.png|access-date=2023-04-07|channel=announcements|quote=All servers have been updated and 049 may now speak!}}</ref>, and then made a server-wide ping on October 16.<ref>{{Cite Discord|name=TechStar123|date=16 October 2020|server=Kurva Gaming|img=Kurva_Gaming28.png|access-date=2023-04-07|channel=announcements|quote=... has been updated with many new roles, so please go check it out!}}</ref> ====2023 attempted services takeover==== On August 14, 2023, Cookie announced that a Discord server migration was required due to "someone close to [them]" taking over services maliciously. They went on to apologize that the prior management and leadership team underneath them, in general, "didn't manage things properly". Members x3rt and Supra were mentioned by name, the former made "CTO" and the latter made the community manager.<ref name=":0" /> Cookie said they would work with the 2 moving forward.<ref name=":3">{{Cite Discord|server=Kurva Gaming|name=Cookie|channel=announcements|img=Kurva_Gaming31.png|access-date=2023-08-31|date=14 August 2023|quote=Due to unexpected circumstances, the original KurvaGamingDiscord was taken over by someone close to me.}}</ref> At the same time, a website called https://kurva.info was launched. The front page, written by x3rt, went on to detail that the breach was due to a "relationship going bad". It further stated that Cookie was pursuing legal action against "the user in question" as they allegedly took control of the Patreon account. x3rt stated they were working on migrating the SCP:SL servers to a new machine. They also wrote a bot that would automatically re-assign appropriate roles to users.<ref>{{Cite web |last=x3rt |first= |date=14 August 2023 |title=Kurva Information |url=https://kurva.info/ |url-status=live |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20230901025608/https://kurva.info/ |archive-date=1 September 2023 |access-date=2023-08-31}}</ref> An announcement from x3rt was made 1 and a half hours after the original stating that access to Patreon was restored.<ref>{{Cite Discord|name=x3rt|date=14 August 2023|server=Kurva Gaming|img=Kurva_Gaming33.png|access-date=2023-08-31|channel=announcements|quote=WE GOT PATREON BACK}}</ref> ====2024 Kelpy G allegations==== On March 27, 2024 Cookie posted a link to a Google Doc in <code>#announcements</code> titled "An official response regarding Kelpy's Claims". The specific allegations which inspired the document's creation were not provided. There are sections near the bottom of the document that exist to respond to a counter-document claimed to have been made by Kelpy G. The counter-document was not provided.<ref name=":999">{{cite document |last=Cookie|date=27 March 2024 |title=[[:File:An official response regarding Kelpy's Claims.pdf|An official response regarding Kelpy's Claims]]|publisher=Kurva Gaming}}</ref> The document begins by stating that in 2020 members Techstar<ref group="Footnotes">Also called "Techstar123".</ref>, 17, and Judge_Red<ref group="Footnotes">Also written as "Judge Red".</ref>, early 20s, were in a romantic relationship. It goes on to explain that both members lived in New York City with it being claimed that the relationship was legal within it's jurisdiction. Then, in 2022, Judge_Red applies to be a Discord moderator which the appropriate authorities accept. The document then states that following Judge_Red's acceptance Kelpy G requested an investigation into Judge_Red for having groomed them, allegedly at the time also 17, while Judge_Red was still in a relationship with Techstar. The document states that the resultant investigation determined the report was inconclusive, with the desired remedy of Judge_Red's termination being rejected on that basis. Cookie states to not have fully agreed with this outcome, but went on to say that their romantic partner Oriimo had full control and access to all their accounts alongside functionally heading the investigation, which Cookie characterizes as them having been incapable of doing anything aside from what they wanted. Oriimo is characterized as a toxic and controlling partner throughout the document.<ref name=":999" /> The document then states that at some point after the investigation Judge_Red was removed from staff for a presumably unrelated matter, but they retained access to a management-only Discord to act as a "Knowledge Archive". This was stated to have been done so Cookie could ask for advisement on matters from 2018-2019, as their memory of such events was self-disclosed to be "very cloudy", and so Cookie could obtain old community documents which may still have unknowingly been in Judge_Red's possession. The document states that Judge_Red did not have real-time access to management communications during this time.<ref name=":999" /> Kelpy G is alleged to not have known about Judge_Red's access to the management-only Discord until 2023, which upset them, with Kelpy G then sending what the document characterizes as hard-proof of the grooming behavior that was not originally provided in 2022. According to the document by Cookie, because the new evidence was submitted after Cookie had successfully cut ties with Oriimo, the new result was that Judge_Red would be removed from the community.<ref name=":999" /> The document goes on to state that in retaliation Judge_Red threatened to file a defamation suit against Cookie. Cookie states to have found this worrisome, and so began to search for a middle ground, as they were unwilling to take the risk that the threat was genuine. This worry was stated to have been compounded by the fact that Judge_Red was alleged to be a practicing attorney in New York City and had significantly more wealth than Cookie. This is written to have been resolved quickly, however, as shortly after Judge_Red willingly agreed to dissociate from Kurva Gaming.<ref name=":999" /> The document goes on to clarify that the reason all of the above information is relevant is because it is background as to why Kurva Gaming lost the official servers as announced on March 25th. Cookie goes on to allege in the document that Kelpy G, in retaliation for having been criticized as bias in their handling of ban appeals, reported to Northwood Studios management that Cookie failed to act on the 2022 report of grooming. As a result, Cookie alleges that a Northwood Studios representative stated that either Kurva Gaming had to have their official servers revoked or Cookie had to step down as owner of the community. Cookie goes on to state that for a variety of financial circumstances, including one where it's success hinged on Kurva Gaming being seen as a financial asset, they had no choice but to choose the former option. This result is alleged to have upset Kelpy G, with Cookie characterizing them as "publicly try and 'ruin' my reputation due to issues that happened before I was made kurva staff{{Sic}}".<ref name=":999" />
