The community made use of a non-linear rank structure, where each service had an isolated hierarchy of staff. The highest-ranking members of each hierarchy reported to a group of individuals that jointly acted as the community's owners. The top of each hierarchy had ''administrators'', with each service typically having 1-3 of them at any given time. Administrators reported to ''super administrators'', a group comprised of 4 members at its apex. The super administrators made decisions that effected the larger community and oversaw the work of the administrators.

Below administrators were ''senior moderators'', who were primarily charged with training ''moderators''. Moderators were tasked day-to-day service moderation.

A position known as ''senior administrator'' also existed, which acted as a managerial role for administrators that reported directly to the super administrators. It was discontinued shortly after it was introduced.<ref name=":0">[[:File:Lunarys history.pdf|File:Lunarys history.pdf]]</ref>

At the community's inception it was originally intended that the rank structure would be more linear, where administrators would jointly be responsible for managing all services provided simultaneously. The outcome of an internal poll sent to the staff team in February of 2020 showed that the administrators were dissatisfied with that decision, resulting in the structure described above.<ref name=":0" />

The community hosted a variety of services using a virtual private server rented from the company [https://www.nfoservers.com/ NFO Servers]. The monthly cost was $50 USD. On December 23, a vast majority of management, leadership, and other members from the community Hydra Gaming leave simultaneously, resulting in the creation of Lunarys.<ref name=":0" />

Between December 24 and 31, the community creates the server and structure necessary to staff ''Minecraft.'' In the same month, applications to apply for staffing positions are released.<ref name=":0" />

==== 2020 ====
In January, servers and structures for staffing are created for ''SCP: Secret Laboratory'' and ''Garry's Mod,'' with the latter running the game mode Trouble in Terrorist Town. In the same month, a handbook for the staff team is released.<ref name=":0" />

In February, the senior administrator position is introduced, bots displaying the active player count for the ''SCP: Secret Laboratory'' servers are launched, the ''Minecraft'' server transitions to being a modded server, and the administrator position becomes tied to a service.<ref name=":0" />

In August, a 3rd ''SCP: Secret Laboratory'' server is launched, and the ''Garry's Mod'' server is placed in a "status" due to "operational and development concerns".<ref name=":0" />

In February, ''Space Station 13'' is introduced as the first sponsored service from Lunarys under it's network partnership program. It was later shut down in April.<ref name=":0" />

In May, another Trouble in Terrorist Town ''Garry's Mod'' server is launched. The following month, it would be demoted to the status equivalent of a sponsored service.<ref name=":0" />

In August, the MediaWiki instance was transitioned from being for the staff team only to being for the community in general. ==== Removal of The_Rekoning ====
On June 13, 2020, it was announced that super administrator The_Rekoning was removed from the leadership team for "behavioral problems that have been exhibited and their effects on the relationship between the community and leadership staff".<ref>[[:File:Lunarys13.png|File:Lunarys13.png]]</ref>

Some community members inquired as to if The_Rekoning would be replaced, with super administrator BlueNova stating no because "it will functionally serve no purpose".<ref>[[:File:Lunarys17.png|File:Lunarys17.png]]</ref> Community member Fauna (known at the time as Capslock) took issue with this rationale, stating "didn't we start the community with the intention of supers not having a dedicated purpose", with other community members agreeing.<ref>[[:File:Lunarys18.png|File:Lunarys18.png]]</ref> Capslock correlated the rationale as to being akin to "creating a 1%".<ref>[[:File:Lunarys19.png|File:Lunarys19.png]]</ref> BlueNova expanded on their position later, stating "Super admins don't have designated purposes, that being said there doesn't seem to be a need for a fourth. The original announcement stated that The_Rekoning had stepped down rather than having been removed involuntarily. This was corrected after it was pointed out by himself,<ref name=":1">[[:File:Lunarys14.png|File:Lunarys14.png]]</ref> with super administrators BlueNova and Sirdog apologizing for the error.<ref name=":1" /><ref>[[:File:Lunarys15.png|File:Lunarys15.png]]</ref> It was noted by community member SimonSimon that the error was "unprofessional and disgusting to see" and that the error "should have never, ever been made", with other community members agreeing.<ref>[[:File:Lunarys16.png|File:Lunarys16.png]]</ref>

==== Sabotage of Minecraft Event ====
On January 30, 2021, community member Foxpox hosted a "Minecraft 1 Hour Hardcore Speedrun" event. The goal of the event was for participants to beat Minecraft in survival mode within 1 hour, wherein anyone who died would be forced to spectate.<ref>[[:File:Lunarys23.png|File:Lunarys23.png]]</ref>

At 10:50pm Eastern time community member Mooly Wammoth uploaded a 24 second video clip of event participants entering the end portal.<ref>[[:File:Lunarys24.png|File:Lunarys24.png]]</ref> The video shows community member JoeMama using a stick and pushing all participants off of the obsidian platform, resulting in 5 participants dying to the void.<sup>[cn]</sup>

One community member commented after the fact that "worst thing is joe contributed nothing to getting to the dragon... [he] griefed the food, and continuously went to punch people for food when he was starving."<ref>[[:File:Lunarys25.png|File:Lunarys25.png]]</ref>

EMP Fingers, a then administrator for the ''SCP: Secret Laboratory'' service, sent the following message at 11:14pm Eastern time.<blockquote>You know what my favorite part about this is?<br><br>

The staff team saw that Joe was the kind of toxic, stupid person to do shit like this months ago and they've been harassed and had accusations of abuse and favoritism tossed at them ever since he got banned. Then he's allowed to join into this event and blows everything up. But hey, who could have ever seen this coming, amirite?<ref>[[:File:Lunarys26.png|File:Lunarys26.png]]</ref></blockquote>This led to community members expressing displeasure with an adult being so antagonistic with a child, with one member stating "you can be as mad as you want at him, but you shouldnt call him stupid. youre calling a 14 yo on the internet stupid."<ref>[[:File:Lunarys27.png|File:Lunarys27.png]]</ref> EMP Fingers replied with "I'm fine with that."<ref>[[:File:Lunarys28.png|File:Lunarys28.png]]</ref>

At one point another member commented "do not go attacking him in dms he still has feelings",<ref>[[:File:Lunarys29.png|File:Lunarys29.png]]</ref> which then super administrator Sushiloid replied with "whoa whoa whoa, no that's harassment - do not DM harass people."<ref>[[:File:Lunarys30.png|File:Lunarys30.png]]</ref>
